DR TERRI DAVIS, C'89

CEO, MINDSETwithdrterri

I know how to be fluid both on and off the field. This is a tribute to my minimalist ways.

A Playa Runnin' The Game: Dr. Terri is a minimalist in many ways. Never one for big material excess or meaningless experiences, her career has placed her “in some really pinky-up places as well as more than a few deep in the hood. For this reason, [she’s] learned to play the game without hatin' the playas by knowing how to be fluid on and off the field.”

Thinkin' Of A Master Plan:  After working 30 years in higher education, Dr. Terri founded her business in 1993. She made the transition to full-time entrepeneur in 2016. Her years of experience provide the foundation for her current endeavor: Mindset withdrterri. Helping her clients to co-create lifelong learning adventures, Dr. Terri relies heavily upon her skills as an educator and empowerment writer.  I'm A Hustla Baby. I Just Want You To Know:  Dr. Terri’s side-hustle is now her center stage. She started out helping everyday people, especially women, change the fabric of their lives by assisting them with their education plans, writing assignments, and life goals. This led her to create an online women's center, StillSoSexy. It is a safe space for "women of a certain age" to share, learn, and shop. "It is personally and professionally liberating for me to have created such a space. It is part of  my latest conquest for tackling romantic relationship issues via edutainment in radio, television, and film."

It's The Apocalypse. Dr. Terri Needs News!: “Jet Magazine. Well,…if it were still in print that is. Ha! Because what is life without a tangible hard print copy of Jet being found somewhere in the Black community? Now if an apocalypse has taken out nearly everything and the internet is still running, I’m going to seek out AwesomelyLuvvie.com. Luvvie covers such a breadth of topics with such hilarity! The ‘on-point-ness’ of her observations and overall visual aesthetics of the site speak to me.”

Dr. Terri's Not So Guilty Pleasures: As an ocean-loving Spelman woman and foodie with a penchant for spiked orange juice, on the weekends you can find Dr. Terri at a bottomless brunch with endless mimosas to be enjoyed at a place by the shore. This guilty pleasure is a thisclose second to her love of long-distance driving. “Whenever possible I like to pack up my office, take it with me on the road, and visit loved ones in other parts of the country.

Next Up for Dr. Terri:  Expanding her role as executive assistant to Legacyboy Entertainment CEO, Darik Bernard. She assists on and off-set with an awesome dramedy film project called Boys & Girls: The Series. “This latest adventure has given me a much different life and a much welcomed change from my career in academia. Yet, I am absolutely still doing what I love and still staying fluid.”
